Moving is stressful at the best of times and few would call their last move the “best of times”. Planning and preparation are key to reducing stress. The most important thing is to start planning early because if the moving company or rental truck you’d like to use is booked, the stress has already started! Moving high-season is generally mid-June until July 31st.
Choosing the wrong mover can turn a stressful experience into a nightmare. Arriving at your new home to find your heirloom(s) in pieces or your beds wet isn’t what you paid for. Make sure you’re mover has experience for the type of move you’re making whether its cross-town or cross-country.

Welcome to our new GPL Self Storage Blog
We want to build a community for all things to do with moving and storing your valuable possessions. Things like how to pick a moving company, safely pack and store fragile items, what you need for insurance during the move and while your items are in storage will all be discussed. We’ll talk about how to take the stress out of moving yourself and how to deal with having to move a relative out of their home. The focus will be on providing useful information, not a bunch of sales and marketing info you don’t need.
GPL Self Storage is a new facility located in Peterborough Ontario. It’s in Canada, eh. We’re the only heated, drive-in storage facility in the city. We’re a small independent provider with only the one location but I hope to make this site a resource that people come to for all their moving and storage questions.
